The Latest

Restoration continues in Eastern Bay

Working for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, we are re-planting at oyster sanctuaries in the waters of the Eastern Bay Region in Queen Anne’s and Talbot counties.

Our story

Seed to Shuck Ventures was formed by serial entrepreneur and shellfish industry innovator Ricky Fitzhugh to develop advanced solutions that restore the oyster reefs of the Chesapeake Bay and improve the efficiency of aquaculture operations.

Restoring oyster beds

Since launching Seed to Shuck Ventures in January 2023, our restoration planting has contributed toward a sustainable future for the Chesapeake Bay’s oyster beds.

What our clients are saying

Lane Zirlott

Farm Leader, Oyster Sommelier,
Murder Point Oysters

“Seed to Shuck’s three-piece tumblers are the heavy-duty, Alabama-oyster-farmer-tough solution I’ve relied on for seven years. Their tumblers have been a true workhorse in my oyster farming operations, standing up to the rigors of daily use and still going strong. Whenever I need parts or assistance, I can always count on their support—just a phone call away!”
